APRIL 3, 2019:
It has long been desired in Wagoner to have additional activities available for community youth.
On Friday, April 12 at 7 p.m., a community meeting is planned at the Lincoln Enrichment Center, 902 Martin Luther King Blvd., to discuss the possibility of bringing a Boys and Girls Club to Wagoner.
John W. Jones, president of the Brighter Futures Foundation, said the agenda will include a Community Readiness Assessment and presentations about the Boys and Girls Club of America.
“We are excited to invite everyone who is interested in creating a Boys and Girls Club in Wagoner to attend this community meeting,” Jones said. “This club will have a positive impact on the lives of our children by creating a safe, caring and learning environment which will prepare them to thrive and become more successful and contributing members of our community.
“Collectively, we can share ideas, resources and talents to dramatically impact and change the lives of countless children and families,” he added. “We encourage all residents to attend and learn more about this exciting opportunity.”
